Mynd Reader Debuts New Single
“Radio Warning”
Due out October 22 on Merchant Records LLC
(Boulder, CO) – Mynd Reader is a fresh force in rock ‘n’ roll, channeling the raw grit and soulful energy of legends like Chris Stapleton, The Black Crowes, and Nathaniel Rateliff.
Leading the band are Matt Schultz and Brian Sachs (The Authority). Having seen great success in the 90s as the drummer for the pioneering jam band The Authority, Brian has played at iconic venues like Nightingales and was in the house band at the iconic Wetlands. He has shared the stage with acts like Phish, Blues Traveler and Dave Matthews, and has grinded on 200+ tour dates every year over the band’s seven year stretch. However, his trajectory shifted dramatically after the tragic passing of The Authority’s legendary manager, Bill Graham and the band parted ways. Despite this, Brian Sachs never stopped playing and continued drumming and writing songs.
Magic hit again when Brian tapped long-time friend and musician, Matt Shultz who is the glue behind Mynd Reader. With a keen ear for melody and a talent for crafting rich soundscapes, Matt brings a unique vision to Brian’s lyrics. His collaborative spirit fosters an environment of innovation, where ideas flourish and evolve. Known for his ability to seamlessly blend genres, Matt’s production skills enhance the raw energy of Mynd Reader, helping to shape their powerful sound. Together with Brian, Mynd Reader is excited to bring forth a new sound rooted in the foundations of rock ‘n’ roll.
Today they are proud to announce their debut single “Radio Warning.” It is due out October 22nd with Merchant Records LLC and will be available everywhere you stream music. Pre-save Here.
For the new album, Brian and Matt enlisted the renowned producer Michael Brauer (Coldplay, John Mayer, Rolling Stones), of BrauerSound, as producer, mixing and mastering engineer, who brought his iconic touch to the new single!
The debut single “Radio Warning,” due out Oct. 22nd, is the title track from their forthcoming album due out next summer. Inspired by Brian’s annual backpacking expedition in Alaska, “Radio Warning” recalls a time when preparation was led by blind faith in community to lend a hand, from broadcasted messages and PSAs about weather and conditions to timely and reliable news. When cell phones did not have internet access, and communities had to rely upon each other, Brian says, “the concept of it is, is there ain’t no joy in living a lifetime alone –like what is collaboration? What is love? What is community? What, what does that mean? And whatever it takes, I’m willing to go.”
As they carve out their unique path in the rock scene, Mynd Reader stands poised to become a defining voice for a new era of rock ‘n’ roll. Their music invites listeners to join them on a journey through electrifying soundscapes that echo the energy of their influences while maintaining a fresh identity. With each performance, they create an unforgettable experience, reminding us all of the timeless power of rock ‘n’ roll.
