(Los Angeles, CA) — BALTHVS is set to release a new remix of “Lovin’ / Trust A Thief” due out September 19. The remix is reimagined by the DC-based producer and founding member of Thievery Corporation, Eric Hilton. Embedded with the producer’s iconic touch, taking the original song, “Lovin’,” off the band’s celebrated and groundbreaking album HARVEST, and adding his downtempo sensibilities to the groove, all while elevating the funk and soul of BALTHVS’ psychedelics. The new single is set to be released as the band continues their North American tour! Coming off a month-long tour in support of Lettuce, BALTHVS is set to route through Austin, then hit the West Coast, including shows in San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Santa Cruz, plus appearances at Cascade Equinox Festival and Paradice Festival! BALTHVS
In just five years, BALTHVS has become one of indie music’s most vital and globally resonant voices. With over 65 million streams, 12,000 vinyls sold, and performances in 56 cities across 19 countries, they’ve earned spots on stages from Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza to SXSW Sydney, while garnering praise from KEXP, BBC Radio, and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM.
Based in Colombia, BALTHVS is a three-piece psychedelic funk outfit known for its groove-led, globally influenced sound. The band centres around guitarist Balthazar Aguirre, who turned to music following a life-altering rock climbing accident that led him to leave a career in law and pursue his creative path. He is joined by bassist Vanessa Muñoz and drummer Santiago Lizcano, both long-time collaborators and funk enthusiasts.
